Enhlish Class !!

Well, my experience of learning English was

very good, because I think that I learn so many things that I didn’t know about the English, and I feel that my English is better now.
Between the things that I enjoy about the English class, there is the blog, which I think is a didactic way for to practice and for know each other.
I think that is interesting when we was talk about geography, because for us is a very important tool to know technical language about our career. The majority of the bibliography about Geography is in English, for that is so important.
I don´t know that can be boring, maybe some activities like which I must complete things, that I think is boring sometimes.
Well, the most difficult for me is listening. In the first level I felt that was so easy, but in level 4, that not was the same thing, because was very difficult for me to understand the words, the people was talking so fast.
In general, I think that I have learned English a lot, and this course as been useful for me, but I need to learn much more for talking English very well.

Palomita´s Blog

Well, this time I choose the Palomita´s Blog. I like it because she writes very well in english, and too for its design, because the colours are very lively.
This blog has a very funny posts, a beautiful color combination and a video in some post. I think thata has so much style. I like very much a picture in the post about learning english, that shows a draw about two persons talking, that is really nice.
Well, a post that I like is the one that talks about Shopping, because I feel very identify with that, I don’t like so much to go shopping, I think there are more important things in the life. Also I go to Bandera street to buy some neccesary, because I like the used clothes, that are originals and cheap.
Well, I think that her blog is really good, and I can’t found nothing wrong, but I believe that if she still doing the blog as now, that wil be great! She writes very fine in english, that helps so much.
I think all the blogs talks about how the person is, the posts, pictures, design, colors, and in this case is like that, because the Palomita´s blog is like she, so funny, and so happy, and for that I like it.

Forest Ranger

Well, if I could choose any job that I like to do, that would be a Forest Ranger in any National Park here in Chile. I would like to do this job because I like very much the nature, and I think there’s no other place better for work.
I am sure that I would enjoy very much this job, because I like very much to go to national parks, and every time that I have been there I thinbk that I would like to work in there. There are very vast places, and I imagine that always there are things to do in a place like that.
For me, this can be a satisfactory job, because is a job for to do good things for nature, that is very important for me. Is almost an ideal job, and the space is very big for do many things for keep the flora and fauna, and with this I could feel completly happy.
Well, when I went to do trekking in several national parks, for a time in the same park, I knew forest rangers, and talking with they, I feel that are people very happy with his job, and one of them tells me that he never change his job, because this give him the possibility of help the nature. This people many times are from near of the parks, then they know the area and have a special feeling about their town and land.

Henry David Thoreau

Well, there are so many people that I would like to have known, because I admire much people by the way they think and the things that they do in the life, changing the world in some way.
In this time, I choose one of my favorite writers, Henry David Thoreau. He lived in the 19th century, and had a revolutionary way to think for this time, with ideas absolutely valid for our times, between the anarchy and the love of nature. His work influence to the pacifists movements of the past century.
I would like to talk so many things with him, to know what he thinks about this world we live and of our time. Also I would like to talk with him about his life in forest, out of the civilization, ask him how was that experience, how he lived, and why choose that place. For discuss about life and nature.
Well, I think for me was very interesting to know him, because I agree with some of what he writing, his ideas about how the world should be, the authority and the life. He was part on the movement of Transcendentalism, whose ideas I think are very considerable.
Also I would like to share with him the love for the nature, and the importance of this, just for know which was the force that make him just get out of the world of society and advance into the woods and live in the nature, alone (no people).

Learning English

Well, I would like to learn to speak english very well, because I hope travel so much, and I think to know english perfectly help me so much to can communicate with the people and not to starve to death… also I think that the english is a useful tool en any ocasión, for communicate with different people in different situations. Actually, the english is a universal languaje, it speaks in all the world, so wherever when I would like to journey, could be a person that speak english, and that can be very good when needs to know something.
With all, th english is a difficult languaje, because is very different to the spanish, the forms are completly diverses. Is like a other way to think, and is necessary patience for know it.
I think always is useful to know english, because sometimes, there is people that I can know or help that only speak english, and is good to be ready. Also, is useful to understand many daily thing, like songs that I never now what said, and for reading, because I like s much read, and smetimes I found books only in english, and I just don’t read it, that is very bad.
In geography, to know english is a very important tool, because the majority of the technical books of this profession are write in english. That means if we don’t know english, lost a great part of knowledge of geography, that is a really serious problem for geographers.

A perfect day out of the city

Well, in first time, I don´t really know with who I would like to spend in this perfect day, can be with my boyfriend, very close friends, family or just with myself, because the company is not the most important for me. I think that whatever be the circunstance would be fine.
But the most important for me in my perfect day is the place, the scenario, that needs to be a place in the nature, specifically in the mountain with a river or lake near. The idea of a perfect day for me is to be in touch with the nature, because that makes me feel really happy, and with a mountain like a view I can ask anything else.
Well, in this place, I would like to walk a lot, for know the mountain, but too I would like to rest, read a good book, spend time just contemplate the landscape and do meditation with the sound of the birds, the wind and water, things that you can´t pay ,near of any kind of civilization, is all that I want to have a perfect day.
In my life, I had a perfect day like this sometimes, when I was in vacations or when I can scape from Santiago and of the responsabilities, but I’m always looking for time to pass a day like this, and I hope in any time, that my life become in many days like this.
I hope all of you have a perfect day just like you want.

Student Demonstratings

Well, the students of the University of Chile, are demonstrating because tryin to put end to the privatizing program of the new government, that wants change the sistem of education of Chile.
I don’t agree to stop the class, because in my opinion, is possible to build a student movement with work, to generate information, and to use all the knowledge we have but for this is no necessary stop all the activities, because we are the most affected with this by lost knowledge that we can have.
I don’t take part in the demonstrating, I think that the reasons are fair, but not the way , because the only affected of all this are we, the students. Also, the ministry said that he won’t talk with anybody that stop the class. This make so difficult all the conversations to resolve this conflict.

The Doors Tribute

Well, this time, I will talk about a little concert I went a couple months ago.
Thas was a tribute of The Doors in the Oxido Bar, in the Bellavista neighborthood. I went with a group of friends, my brother and my boyfriend, and we had a really good time!!.
I really enjoyed that, but the place was very small, and came an excessive numbrer of people, and all of us was very cramped in the show. That time, played three tribute groups, to Jimmy Hendrix, Grand Funk and in the end, The Doors, that is one of my favorite musical band.
In spite of the conditions, the terribly hot inside the bar and the excessive people, the band was really good, and they played the big classic success.
This was a really good experience for me, because I just can listen their music in discs, by obvious reasons I will never can see they en live, and this cnahce to listened this music in live was a very good experience for me. Me and my brother enjoy that so much, but my friends and boyfriend was bored, but the people and the hot inside.
I decide to go this event because I like very much The Doors, and to listen their music in live in a way, to attrac my attention very much. Too I went because I like so much the music and enjoy the rock music live, that is a really good to see it.

Something I would like to do

Well, this time, I talk about something that I would like to do sometime, and this is Hang Gliding, that is an air sport. It use a kind of aeroplane but without a motor, called Delta Plane.
I always would like to do this, because I think the chance of fly and glide is amazing, and is possible to see the landscapes from the height, that can be really beautiful, too fly between the mountains catches my attention so much.
I think the hang gliding is an activity very intresting, because is something unusual, for me, is something I never had the chance to do, and I hope do it once in my life. I like very much the life in nature, and this activity is always in natural places, and flying is possible to see so much diffrent things.
I believe that I can be so good for this activity, because I have no affraid of the high, and I have courage for do that, I think if I have the chance to do it, I don´t think twice and I would take that opportunity.

One of my favorite work of art

This time, I will talk about one of my favorites work of art. I like very much the painting, and I have a few artists that I admire, but my favorite is Vincent Van Gogh Dutch artista born in 1853 , because I think that is an amazing painter, his work is very dramatic, like his life, that was very stormy, but the result of this was a fantastic collection of painting, that likes me so much.
In the picture here, this is my favorite painting, called Starry Night. I like this picture because, the colours and the image itself is very expressive, the night, the moon and the town looks as if it were alive. I saw it for first time in my home, in a book of postcards of Van Gogh that was saved in a old box. When I see it I like the painting inmediatly…
I think this work is all special, the movement of its elements, the colours and all in the painting makes me fell a sensation of peace, is like travel to some small place in Holland. For me, is a work that means very much, because I think that is a very good, product of a unbelievable talent (my favorite!). he has an infinite collection of works, but in my opinión, this is the best.

Holidays in 2008

Well, this time, I will talk about my holidays in the summer of 2008, one of the best in my life.
I went with my boyfriend to the south of Chile, and between other places, we visit the Alerce Andino reserve, near to Puerto Montt, in a town called Correntoso, where the people was very nice and kind with us, and accepted us really good.
In this holidays, we went in tent, because we both like camping, and in this place, we saw beautiful places, but we walked so much too. The things that most impressed to me was, in first place, the biggest alerces that we saw, because I never saw trees like these, and the beautiful lakes between the mountains. After see it, I thougt was worth all we walked in this place. Also we sleeped with an endless rain…
I have a special memory of this holidays. All for prepare it was very hard, because I work so much for I can pay it, and we had no agreement. in spite of all the difficult was arrive there, we saw unforgettable places, we did so much trek, saw so much nature and we feel a lot of peace there.
I would like to go back to Alerce Andino someday, for know it completly, because I missed a lot of places for lack of time, That I´m sure must be so beautiful to see it.

Free Post

Well, this time I will talk about one of my favorite musical groups, that is Pink Floyd.
The disc in the photo is The Dark Side of the Moon, to 1973, one of the most important of the band and, personally, one of my favorites.
The members in this time was: David Gilmour (vocals and guitar), Roger Waters (bass), Richard Wright (piano) and Nick Mason (drums).
Them music is like a progressive rock, and is an emblematic group of the 70'. today, still is one of the most influential bands in the world. Too is a band recognizedbecause a spacial style of them compositions and conceptual albums in the mid seventies.
I have listened they since I have memory, because in my house, my uncles like them.
The first album I remember is The Wall, and I like it inmediatly, because the music is very special, full of different sound, that can transport you to other places.
I like Pink Floyd because, in first place, I think that they are really good musicians, with a great creativity and imagination, and too because they have a good ability for experiment with the music, en special in the 70’s, when technology in the music was came up.
Also, one of my favorite songs is I wish you were here, that is very nice and so special for me.
I like listen Pink Floyd so loud, and see the DVD too.

a photo that likes me

well, I will talk about one of my favorite photo. this image was taken the last summer, in february 2010, in my vacations on Ñuble nature reserve, near to Chillan, into the Andes range.
This photo was taken when arrive to the reserve, after me and my boyfriend did walk 10 kilometers, the seccond half of the road, we was really exhausted after that. In the photo I was resting, because the path was very hard, so long and so warmth. besides, we was get up very early.
The photo shows the road where we did rest,the track and the vegetation of the place, that is very abundant.
The image was taken by my boyfriend, that was my only partner in that trip.
this photograph is very special for me, because that was a really good vacations, where we knew a beautiful places in the mountain, the rivers, the trees, the sky, all was so nice. Also is important because the photo shows the begin of the longest trekking in my life, that was very exhausting, but I think was one of the best experience, and I can say this is one of the most beautiful places to Chile, where we found so much peace.

India

Well, this time I will talk about one of the countries that I wouldlike to visit:India.

I would like to go because i think that is a beautiful country, besides it is one of the most extensives of the world. When I will go to this country (because I hope go some day), I would like to visit all intresting an diverse landscapes, to meet people, their different custom and ways of life.

India is a really big country, where there are so many places to know;this country has great part of the biodiversity of the world, cause of this, there is a lot of natural placesto know, specially the Himalayas, the biggest mountains on the world, that is like a dream. Besides, India has a rich culture, that is very atractive. I would like to visit the Taj Mahal and the main monuments.

India is very different to Chile as soon as his society, because this is stratified in the social class. Also ii is different in culture, costumes, traditions and religion. In this country, exist a big preoccupation by the government about the nature protection, and it has a very strict law for the nature conservation. This can be an example to Chile for the protection of our environment.

Correction Blog

A place in chile that I enjoyed visiting frequently: Pichilemu

The place where i visited recently, in summer is Pichilemu. This place is located in the coast of the VI Region, at ( WW not necessary) 259 km of Santiago. I visited this place from 1st to 15th of February 2010, 12 days before the earthquake and tsunami. I went with my parents and my brother this (WW the Word is ‘these’) days and my sister the second week. In this place, I did many activities, but the best is (WW, the word is ‘was’) surfing. I went surfing 7 days and it was amazing, the waves was incredible and funny. The water wasn't cold in the sea, but I'm a beginner in surfing. Pichilemu is a place where not only surfing is the attractive. I visited the Cahuil Lake, the salt extraction in the lake and I ate a fish in the restaurant. After, I visited Boyeruca, when I ate good food in the beach cove. I visited Iloca and Duao in the south of Pichilemu and I ate a good reineta and I enjoyed the beach.
In Pichilemu, I walked in the beach and the center of the city, where have (WF, the correct for is ‘which has’)many shops and restaurants, I ate ice creams and I bought a t-shirt. When I return to Santiago, I remembered the good moments of this place, until 27th february, when this places when I visited in this summer, dissapeared rapidly and I feel bad.

Blog review: Cristian Campos

Well, this time, I review the Cristian Campos’s blog. I can see that he published 7 posts in his blog. In the three last posts, he included photographs, related with the matter of the post, and he hasn’t videos.
I think the blog’s design has something of personal liking, but I can say that this blog is very tidy, all is in his place, and he did all the activities of the english clases. However, I think this is a nice blog, the colors are fine and it has a good design.
My first impression of this blog, is that Cristian knows very well to write in english, because the posts are clear to understand, how the post about surfing, that is easy for read.
I think this is a good blog, and reading it I can see he likes so much the surfing, that is an intresting activity, but I never practice it…

What I do in my free time

Today, I will talk about things I like to do in my free time. I have a lot of things.
when I don't have to study, I like listen my favorite music. I enjoy so much to lie down in the couch and put the music so loud. this can be classic rock, reggae or relaxing music, but need to be so loud... I do this everytime I can, when there is nobody in home, because my mom don't like the loud music.
Another thing I like to do when I have free time is to cook, preferably, sweet things, like cookies, but my favorite is the lemon pie...for after I eat a big piece of that.118
When there is a good weather, I like to go for a walk near my home (in the center of Santiago)in the parks and avenues to take pictures in all places. I like so mach go to Forestal Park, Lastarria street and the antique streets in Santiago.
Finally, I really like to sleep in my free time, specially if the weather is so cold and I have nothing to study!

One of ny favourite movies...

It is so hard to choose a favourite movie, because I have a lot… this time, i will talk about the film “The Constant Gardener”, by Fernando Meirelles, the same director of City of God. 27
The film takes place in Africa, and is about a conspiracy between the governments of England and Kenia and the pharmaceutical industry, who are testing a new drug in the african people that is infected with the HIV virus. This alliance can earn billions of dollars for both sides. When the wife of a diplomat, the main carácter of the movie, is murdered because she discovered the secret of the government, he started an investigation to end his wife’s work.
I saw this picture 2 years ago, by coincidence, because my mom brought it home on a DVD and i saw it for curiosity… I like this movie because i enjoy the films about social problems and it gives a message that there are things that happen in the world we need to be concious of.
There are a lot of thing makes this film better than others… one of this is the direction, because Fernando Meirelles has a great talent. Other can be the locations, because show Africa just what it is, with contrasts.

Earthquake experience

The day of the earthquake I was in a town called Hualqui, near to Concepcion, with my boyfriend visiting my dad, who lives there, that was the perfect end to our vacations, but it was not like that...
the three of us went to sleep at 2:30 a.m., and after that, the earthquake begin. in the first moment, we stayed in bed, but when it turned more heavy, we quickly left the house, but I don't remember how I came out.
After the violent tremor, I was very worried about my family, because we hadn't a phone's signal, and they didn't know anything about us.
The situation in town was very violent, because there was not water and electricity, and the food of the small general store was exhausted.
I think the country reacted fine in general, but in a big disaster like this, is very difficult to any country help the people quickly, although it had some mistakes.

Favorite Places of Chile

One of my favorite things I like to do is travel. Making journeys of Chile with a rucksack is something that I do every time I can, specially in vacations.

I don't really have a favorite place to escape from Santiasko, because I always try to go to a different location, but a place that I go two times and is near to Stgo is the National Reserve Rio Cipreses, near to Rancagua, up in the mountains.

In 2009 I went for first time, and made a real impression on me, because is a incredible big place, full of nature, rivers, birds and the mountais look so beautiful. My intention was to cover all the reserve, but that was impossible in 3 days, because the road was very long and the treking was so exhausting.

In the camping, we install the tent to sleep in the cold night near to the mountains, and after to the treking, we enjoy the landscape, the cold river and the sound of the birds and water.

And too the sky full of stars in the night, something impossible in Santiago.
